The Iraqi soccer team qualified for the Olympic tournament. I usually support my American, Canadian, and Mexican homeboys and then pick some Cinderellas to root for. You can get tired of 800 pound gorillas in international sport. The US soccer team was eliminated by Mexico. This summer at Athens in the Soccer Futbol Tounement I'll be rooting for Iraq (and Mexico). I'm hoping others will too. Go Iraq!

I remember when the Lithuanian Basketball team was adopted by the Greatful Dead. That support allowed them to go to the Games on a shoestring budget. They won Bronze and wore the donated tie-dye uniforms to the medal ceremony. Maybe something that fun will happen here.
